To my people,
You have exceeded what I thought God meant by community. You have shown me His love by drawing me in among yourselves. You have stepped out of your way to catch me when I fall. You have taught me more than I can ever thank you for. I was alone in my self-made isolation. I thought I was fine, I thought I was ok. But when I seemly dropped off the edge of a cliff so many of you were there to pull back on board. I thought I didn’t need people. I thought I didn’t need all of you. God showed me I was wrong, I need community.
I needed the love of God that all of you displayed. I needed the example of Godly men and women. I needed to see you love our God too.
Thank you for being true followers of Christ. Thank you for being loving in His name. Thank you for being my community and my church. Thank you for being my people.
Thank you, God, for giving me the community I needed.
