still i know

Agony suffocates my soul in suffering,
Pain sears my heart with flames,
Misery parades in malevolent hands,
Spasms envelop the last of my strength,
Voices torment my every waking thought.
There is an affliction that spits in my face when I think I can take no more.
When the ache in my bones is overwhelming,
When the depression of my mind is numbing,
When the fear racking my senses has snapped,
When the last of my strength has gone;
Dear Lord, then do I still know you are with me.
